Biography:

Michael Holden is an assessment researcher and teacher educator. His research examines the complexities of teaching, learning, and assessment in contemporary education, with a particular focus on collaborating with teachers as they work to provoke and support emergent learning. He has worked alongside pre- and in-service teachers in Alberta and Ontario for more than a decade, leading projects focused on classroom assessment, experiential learning, teacher professional learning, and equity. Previously, Michael served as the Conference Manager for the Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE). He currently serves in leadership roles with the Canadian Assessment for Learning Network (CAfLN), the National Council for Measurement in Education (NCME), and the Classroom Assessment SIG for the American Educational Research Association (AERA). His professional interests include classroom assessment, engaging students and teachers in meaningful learning, and developing stronger collaborative networks in education.
