Biography:

Peter taught for 13 years in Gimli High School, receiving multiple awards for his innovative teaching techniques including the Governor General’s Award for Excellence in Teaching Canadian History. In 2003,  Peter was elected to serve as the MLA for the Gimli Constituency and in his tenure as MLA served in cabinet for the governments of Premiers Gary Doer and Greg Selinger as Minister of Education, Citizenship and Youth, Minister of Entrepreneurship Training and Trade, Minister of Housing and Community Development, and Minister of Education and Advanced Learning. Peter joined the Faculty in 2016.
