The Graduate and Postdoctoral Development Network hosts the Canadian Career Symposium for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars. The symposium is aimed at professional development and career exploration. Presentations by GPDN members and invited experts cover topics including inspirational keynotes, career self-assessments, resumes, informational interviews, and networking
The 2024 Symposium will feature a keynote address by Dr. Joe Kim, a cognitive psychologist from McMaster University, who will present on "The psychology of focusing on what matters". The keynote will be followed by a session on values from Lorna MacEachern, McGill University.
