Holi

ISS is hosting a Holi event on March 14. For those who are not aware, Holi is a popular South Asian event that is celebrated globally by South Asians. It is also known as the Festival of Colours.

We would like to invite all students to take part in this beautiful diverse cultural event to celebrate the day with your fellow students. More details will be communicated sooner to the event.

Income Tax clinic

ISS will be offering our annual 'Income Tax clinic' where international students can file their 2024 tax returns for free. Even if you did not receive scholarships or have paid employment, you should file income taxes if you arrived in Canada on or before December 31 2024 as you may qualify for income tax credits or other benefits. You can also apply for a GST credit when filing income taxes. More information will be sent closer to the date of the clinic. Email iss@uwinnipeg.ca if you have any questions.

March 17-21 10:30 am - 6:30 pm

March 24-28 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Drop-in Sessions (Academic and Immigration Advising)

Each week, ISS hosts drop-in sessions for Academic Advising and Immigration Advising. Each of these sessions can be joined virtually (email iss@uwinnipeg.ca for the Zoom link) or in-person at ISS (8th floor Rice Centre, 491 Portage Ave). Please note that these sessions are for short (10-minute) questions.

Academic Advising Drop-ins

Tuesdays and Wednesdays : 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Thursdays: 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Immigration Advising Drop-ins

Tuesdays: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Fridays: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

NOTE: There will be no drop-in sessions on Statutory holidays.
