Master of Environmental and Social Change Student Society

The MESC student society was created with the purpose of fostering connection and to provide opportunities for growth and reflection for students in the MESC program through a combination of social and educational events. The events offered by the MESCSS will be reflective of the program's interdisciplinary nature, with one of the mainstays being a regularly scheduled speaker series. Speakers will consist of academics and community members from varying backgrounds and experiences who will share stories of their time in community, academia, and industry. Other events will focus on building a sense of connection and community within the MESC program and the broader community. We will meet on a regular basis for social activities such as potlucks, picnics, bowling, volunteer opportunities in the community, a mentorship program between cohorts, and study sessions in the MESC student lounge.
