Knowledge Mobilization and Research Impact - Series

Session 7 – Research Impact and Evaluation

Panelists: Jeff Martin | Professor, Physics; Yannick Molgat-Seon | Assistant Professor, Kinesiology & Applied Health; Christiane Allen | Managing Director, Prairie Climate Centre; TBD

In this panel discussion, we will delve into the relationship between knowledge mobilization and research impact, focusing on how to effectively collect and communicate the evidence of that impact. Key takeaways will include understanding the connection between activities, outputs, outcomes, and impact. We will discuss how activities lead to outputs, which then lead to short- and long-term outcomes, ultimately resulting in impact. Impact occurs when partners use research to shape policies, practices, and services. We will also explore the diverse pathways to impact, highlighting why specific frameworks can be challenging to apply universally.
