Contact: Dylan Jones
Location: Zoom
Presenter: Jaime Orr, Research Data Management Librarian
The Tri-Agencies are expected to phase in a data deposit requirement in 2026, which will require all grant recipients “to deposit into a digital repository all digital research data, metadata and code that directly support the research conclusions in journal publications and pre-prints that arise from agency-supported research [by the time of publication]” (Tri-Agency RDM Policy). RDM Week 2025 will provide UWinnipeg researchers with the information they need to prepare for this requirement.
Along with the data deposit requirement, the agencies will require data management plans (DMPs) to be submitted to the appropriate agency at the time of application, for certain funding opportunities. A data management plan (or DMP) is a formal plan that describes how research data are managed throughout a research project. This session will provide essential information about DMPs, including the importance and benefits of writing a DMP, discipline specific DMP exemplars and a demonstration of the freely available DMP tool, DMP Assistant.
