The Human Rights and Diversity Office is pleased to provide training and information sessions for staff and faculty that can help make the University of Winnipeg a happier, healthier, safer, and more respectful environemnt for all members of our campus community.
Below is a list of our upcoming sessions:
Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Violence
All staff and faculty are invited to attend a professional development session on a trauma-informed response to receiving disclosures of sexual violence being held on Tuesday, October 31, and Thursday, November 2, from 12:30–1:30 p.m. via Zoom. Any staff or faculty who have not received Sexual Violence Prevention Policy or Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Violence training within the past year are strongly encouraged to attend.
This session will be facilitated by the Human Rights and Diversity Office and will explore best practices and your obligations for responding to disclosures of sexual violence including appropriate referrals.

Respect in the Workplace at the University of Winnipeg
The Human Rights and Diversity Office will be offering a three-hour presentation focused on the exploration and impact of disrespectful behaviours. The presentation will provide examples of toxic workplace behaviors with a review of requirements to maintain a healthy workplace under the UWinnipeg Respectful Working and Learning Environment Policy. Tips and tools for navigating issues of workplace disrespect including a review of UW options for addressing concerns will be provided. Meeting location will be emailed to participants.

Managing Effective Meetings
Facilitating effective meetings is a skill. No one enjoys going to meetings that are unproductive or disorganized. This 2.5-hour review will highlight some tips and tools to help facilitators review and upgrade their methods of preparing for and facilitating meetings. It will highlight common meeting mechanical glitches such as; lack of input, agenda, awareness, purpose of meeting, and follow-up. Followed by a review of facilitation tips, techniques, and dealing with difficult meeting dynamics.

Managing Workplace Conflict (Two-part Training Session)
This interactive workshop will aid participants understanding on; how to approach situations, where to start and what to say when a complaint or conflict is disclosed, common snags and policy interpretation, addressing conflict holistically and how to deliver feedback. The training session will take place on campus, room to be determined.
