Fire Evacuation Plans
Fire evacuation plans have been,or are in the process of being developed for every University building. These plans will be specific to each building with designated Fire Wardens for each area/zone, along with a description of the Fire Wardens' actions during an evacuation for any reason.
Fire Wardens will assist in the coordination of any evacuation process and will communicate relevant information to the Security/Fire Marshals during an evacuation.
All occupants of a building are expected to evacuate the building when the fire alarm is activated. Your designated Fire Warden will provide you with instructions to be followed in the event of an evacuation, and you need to ensure that you know your responsibilities and your emergency assembly point upon evacuation. To ensure everyone's safety, during any evacuation please follow your Fire Warden's directions.
Click here for a Fire Drill Record Report to submit a record of any table-top exersize or fire safety orientation in your area. Once completed, submit to the Safety Office.
It is critical that persons who may require assistance, even temporarily should be identified, and if necessary have developed an individualized emergency response plan. For guidance please see the Protect in Place Procedure found here: https://www.uwinnipeg.ca/emergency-preparedness/docs/persons-requiring-assistance.pdf
