First Aid Training

Basic First Aid

The University of Winnipeg offers Basic First Aid training to employees - both faculty and staff - four times per year in connection with the Safety and Health Program. In 2022. the university was recognized by SAFEwork Manitoba and the St. John Ambulance by awarding the Excellence in Workplace First Aid Training award for that year.

Exit surveys of workers who participate in workplace first aid training report a high degree of satisfaction with the training and consider themselves to be more valuable employees as a result. Moreover, participants see the importance of first aid as a portable life skill which benefits their lives outside the workplace.
