I am a Student - How do I reset my WebAdvisor password?

Your university network credentials are your student WebAdvisor user name and password.  The student WebAdvisor password is used to access WebAdvisor, webmail and Nexus.

Students who DO NOT remember their WebAdvisor password:

You can use WebAdvisor to create a temporary password using the ‘Forgot My Password’ option.

Go to : WebAdvisor

  • In the log in section, you will find "Forgot your username and password?". Please click on the word “Password”
  • You will be taken to the "Forgot Password" page
  • Please enter your User ID and the personal email account you have on file (NOT your webmail account)
  • You will be sent instructions to your personal email account on how to complete the process

 If the “Forgot My Password” function does not work, you can contact the Service Desk during business hours by phone (204-786-9149) or by email servicedesk@uwinnipeg.ca. Once we validate your identity, you will receive a temporary password.

  • Please login to WebAdvisor with the temporary password
  • Once the you attempt to log in to WebAdvisor, you will be prompted to change the password to a personal and private one of your choosing

Your password must be a minimum of 14 characters (to a maximum of 24) and meet the following requirements:

  • Must not include parts of your User ID
  • Must not include parts of your first or last name that exceed two consecutive characters
  • At least one uppercase character from A-Z
  • At least one lowercase character from a-z
  • At least one number from 0-9
  • At least one special character! “ # $ % ‘ * + ) ( - . / ] [ ^ _

 Students who want to UPDATE the current WebAdvisor password to a new password:

Please log in to WebAdvisor with your current password to change your password to a new one.

  • Once you have logged in to WebAdvisor, at the top right corner of your screen, please click on the user profile icon, which is a red button with your username and a person symbol. You will then see a 'Change Password' option. Click on that. You will then be prompted to change your password.
