Applied & Joint Programs
Many of us learn best by doing. That’s why The University of Winnipeg Chemistry Department has teamed up with Red River College to offer a joint program that blends academic and practical experience. This program includes a co-operative option which provides students with the opportunity to experience a chemistry career though work experience, to improve interpersonal and employment skills, and develop valuable contacts in the field. This combination of skills and experience provides students with the flexibility they need to succeed in an ever-changing job market. The Department of Chemistry also participates in the interdisciplinary major in Environmental Studies.
The Chemistry Department at The University of Winnipeg is a Nationally Recognized Program. The degree programs that are nationally recognized are the 4-year BSc Chemistry, BSc Chemistry (Honours) and BSc Chemistry (Joint Program in Applied Chemistry with Red River College). Chemistry students graduating from these programs will receive a formal accreditation certificate from the Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC).
