Our Research
Research is an important component of the activities of the Department of Chemistry. Several projects in the areas of analytical, environmental, theoretical, physical, organic, organometallic, polymer and biological chemistry are ongoing, supported by grants from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Medical Research Council of Canada (MRC), Manitoba Health Research Council, the Petroleum Research Fund, the Canadian Heart Foundation/Manitoba Heart Foundation, the University of Winnipeg, and other granting agencies. Several members of the Department hold Adjunct Appointments in various departments at the University of Manitoba and other graduate institutions, which allows them to participate in collaborative research and to supervise graduate students.
