Abstract: Podcasts have become one of the most popular broadcasting media since their introduction at the beginning of the century. In the field of education, scholars have noted that podcasting at universities is emerging as a promising teaching tool (Crawford, 2007). Although podcasting in education may be a reality in other parts of the world, it has had a slower introduction in formal education in Brazil, consistently growing between 2013 and 2020, with a more prominent use by public institutions (Celarino et al., 2022). Starting as a teaching tool to help professors and students navigate the multiple challenges imposed by the pandemic, Podcast Archai worked not only as a powerful pedagogical tool in those difficult moments, but it has outgrown the walls of the University of Brasília. According to digital data and reports, the podcast has made the classical world much more accessible in Portuguese to hundreds of people beyond academia. This chapter aims to present the project, its original pedagogical outcomes, and how it has evolved as a source of high-quality content about the ancient world in Portuguese, bridging the gap of accessibility to content in the vernacular, building a more robust academic network and community identity in the country, and challenging the hegemony of the English language in Classics in Brazil.
