PROFile: Dr. Flavia Vasconcellos Amaral

Dr. Flavia Vasconcellos Amaral originally wanted to be a journalist but instead fell in love with literature in her first year at the University of São Paulo. There, she discovered Latin and Greek poetry, encountering the works of Homer, Sappho, Ovid and Catullus.

“My life has been devoted to languages,” Vasconcellos Amaral says.
