Waste Management

The Building Services division is responsible for waste disposal, recycling, and composting at The University of Winnipeg.

On campus we have two types of containers: multi-stream and single stream. These containers are emptied in accordance with the following:

1. Higher traffic (cafeterias, etc.) areas are emptied multiple times per day. All containers in high traffic areas are emptied in the evening for the morning rush.
2. Common areas are done daily, including but not limited to hallways, reception areas, and open office areas.
3. Individual office bins are emptied weekly when the office is being cleaned. To have pickups completed sooner, please leave your bin in the hallway, where they will be tended to.
