Fri. Jun. 5 06:00 PM
- Fri. Jun. 5 08:00 PM
Location: The Legislative Assembly of Manitoba/Assemblée législative du Manitoba
The losses endured due to police brutality adversely impact our lives and the community. Over the past couple of weeks, we have seen many Black lives cut short over police brutality.
On Friday, June 5th, speakers from the Black community in Winnipeg as well as Indigenous kin will gather at the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba (450 Broadway Ave) to show solidarity.
Speakers for the night:
- Nadine Sookermany from Women’s Health Clinic
- Uzoma Asagawara MLA for Union Station and organizer of QPOC Winnipeg
- Adeline Bird is an Afro-Indigenous community advocate, producer and filmmaker. She is also the author of Be Unapologetically You: A self-love guide for women of colour.
In the times of distress, come to heal and show solidarity in your community.
