Dr. Shauna Labman Attends 47th Annual Congress of the French Association for Canadian Studies

From June 26- 29, Dr. Shauna Labman, Executive Director of Global College, attended the 47th Annual Congress of the French Association for Canadian Studies/ Association Française d’Études Canadiennes (AFEC), hosted by the Catholic University of the West, in Angers, France.
The theme of the conference was "Examining Canada's Approach to Refugees Across Two and a Half Centuries (1770-2023)."
Dr. Labman served as a member of the conference's Scientific Committee and presented a session entitled, "Old Tensions and New Questions: The Expansion of Refugee Sponsorship" with Rachel McNally (Carleton University).
While in Europe, Dr. Labman also participated in a Teaching Refugee History Workshop, hosted by Refugee History, at University College London.
Refugee History is an online platform dedicated to making academic research on refugee history accessible to a broader audience.
