Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications

Certificate in Writing

Graduates of the certificate program will gain an understanding of audience, genre, and textual processes; as well as an increased confidence in writing knowledge, revision practices, written conventions, editing, and attention to style. Enhanced skills in written communications are valuable in a variety of traditional writing-based fields — such as journalism, broadcasting, public relations, and publishing — as well as in education, research, and government sectors.

Students must apply to graduate with a Certificate in Writing. Application forms are available in the Department of Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications office.
