Automatically Offered Awards
- Departmental (Faculty/Major) Awards: These are department specific awards. We will notify selected award recipients by December of each year. No application is necessary for most departmental awards.
- NOTE: We recommend that students check with their Faculty or Department office to ensure they do not require an additional application.
- Academic Proficiency Scholarships: This scholarship is awarded to students currently registered in at least 12 credit hours with a sessional GPA of 4.00 or higher in at least 12 credit hours in the previous Fall/Winter and Summer sessions combined. Students must have completed at least 30 credit hours at the University to be eligible for this award.
- NOTE: Eligible students are rank-ordered. Recipients will be awarded monetary value until all the budget has been disbursed or until the last eligible student has received an offer, whichever comes first.
- Dean’s Honour List: This is a transcript notation for students with high academic achievement. It is awarded to currently registered students who have achieved sessional GPA of 3.55 or higher in at least 18 credit hours completed in the previous Fall/Winter and Summer sessions combined. Students will be considered after they have completed 30 credit hours at the University.
- “Student of Distinction” = sessional GPA of 3.55 to 3.99
