DEV-3630 Advanced Internship
Practicum is individualized. The student along with the practicum instructor will work together to decide this based on availability. Students will submit their top 3 choices.
If the student has a preference, they can make the initial inquiry to help facilitate the placement. The instructor, student, and practicum supervisor will then meet to work out the details.
- Current copy of your CV
- Criminal and child abuse registry check
Students would conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. This will be reviewed in the first class.
Students will attend the in person classes that accompany the practicum and the instructor and practicum site would help to secure any materials that are required.
Currently, there is no formal evaluation (Subject to Change). Regular check-ins will occur and if the student completes the 20 days or 160 hours.
The practicum start early in the term once the meeting occurs between the practicum supervisor, student and practicum instructor. The practicum should be completed by the end of the course timeline.
The major challenge for many students is getting the time off work to complete the practicum requirements. If a student is working, they should alert their employer as soon as they can.
