Jacee Forsythe
Jacee graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a BA in Human Rights in 2022. She is currently pursuing an M.A. in Education and Society at McGill University. She also works as a research assistant, redesigning a course called Sustainable Agriculture in Guatemala. The course is situated within the department of Agriculture at McGill and its redesign focuses on implementing learning for sustainability, including social sustainability which is directly connected to human rights and social justice principles.
"During my undergrad in Human Rights at Global College, I found myself continuously advocating through education, designing small workshops and presentations that I presented at public libraries, and high schools."

Fiona Vowell
Fiona graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a BA in Human Rights in 2021. She is currently working with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.

Courtney Joshua
Courtney graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a BA in Human Rights in 2019. She is currently a Researching and Teaching Assistant at Carleton University.
"My time studying at Global College was dynamic in responding to both academic and non-profit experiences, perspectives, and tensions. Collectively, the professors, students, and course content provided opportunities for me to learn about socio-economic and ethical-political landscape of human rights as both a lived experience and scholarly interactions."

Brittany Lavallee
Brittany graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a BA in Human Rights in 2019. She is currently a Policy Analyst at the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs First Nations Family Advocate Office.
"My experience at Global College was transformative for my personal and academic growth. The required practicum placement for the Human Rights program is invaluable and pushed me to develop my professional network, landing my first job right after graduation. The international aspect of field courses offered at the Global College is necessary for students studying global issues in the experiential learning process."
Alumni Profile: Brittany Lavallee
Emily Rempel
Emily graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a BA in Human Rights in 2017. She went on to obtain a Juris Doctor from the Robson Hall Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba. She is currently an associate lawyer at Fillmore Riley LLP, specialising in employment and labour law. She leverages her human rights knowledge in her everyday law practice.
"My experience at Global College was very positive. It challenged me, widened my perspective, and taught me how to look at the world more critically and compassionately. I am grateful for the skills that I developed through the Global College, which I am now able to bring into my practice as a lawyer."
